星星之火咖喱面 Star Curry Chef’s Recommendations

When the curry you’re enjoying makes your scalp perspire and your nose run, you know it’s DA BOMB! That was exactly what happened when we were savouring Star On Fire Curry Mee.

This signature item from 星星之火咖喱面 Star Curry comes highly recommended, which was why we had both the soup (wet) and dry versions. In fact, having dined at 星星之火咖喱面 Star Curry previously (located directly opposite 新泉芳咖喱面 Restoran Xin Quan Fang), we were eagerly looking forward to another round, and came in for lunch at the first opportunity.

Our other item was also a Chef’s Recommendation – the mouth-watering Giant Prawn Noodles. Using wonton noodles as a base and topped with a huge prawn, as you can see from this photo, it’s not a spicy dish. So, it certainly suits diners who cannot tolerate the spiciness of Star On Fire Curry Mee.

For good measure, we also had the Curry Chicken Rice. As you can tell, curry is never enough for our family and we must have rice. Well, we are Chinese, after all. Can you blame us? While many eateries try to save costs by serving lower-quality rice, it’s not the case with Star Curry. It really does make a difference when one pours the gravy over the rice, in this case, the curry. And let’s not forget the generous portion of the chicken. The serving had around seven pieces of chicken and four cuts of potatoes!

Previously, quite a few people mentioned that it was a hassle to park in the area. Somehow, we had no problem both times getting a parking bay right in front of the cafe! We do thank the parking God, but should the bays be filled, just turn right on the next street and you should be good.

Did you know that the next street is the New Town Food Square where Lou Wong is located? Yes, why fall into the tourist trap when you can just take a walk around the corner? You can also take the back door – here is a signage to indicate its back entrance.
