A consecration ceremony for Sri Subramaniar temple in Gunung Cheroh, Ipoh was on July 4, as scheduled, upon the completion on the rajagopuram, that is the grand entrance to the temple, named Kallumalai Arulmigu Sri Subramaniar Temple
Constructed since 2010, it has 528 statues of various deities crafted by skilled craftsmen especially imported from Southern India.
The 21.3m-tall rajagopuram, which was built at an undisclosed sum, was sponsored by traders at Jalan Bendahara in Ipoh.
With its completion, the temple committee’s vision to have a rajagopuram that would last more than 100 years, has been realised.
In conjunction with this consecration, special prayers and pujas are conducted for 48 consecutive days at 10am and 4pm daily.
