RPS has long been one of Ipoh’s premier girls’ schools. Established in 1949 as the Government English Girls’ School, it quickly built a strong reputation for academics, sports and character. Their hockey and netball teams are still the town’s pride, while many alumnae have gone on to make their mark in different fields.

Among the most celebrated is Yang Mulia Toh Puan Raja Dato’ Seri Utama Noora Ashikin Raja Abdullah, wife of Tun Ramli Ngah Talib, the ninth Yang Dipertua Negeri Pulau Pinang.

A Reunion Across Generations

The Alumni RPSian Association, set up only five years ago, is the driving force behind the reunion. After the success of their first event last year, this time they are expecting around 300 alumnae, from young graduates to senior members in their seventies.

Even more special, six of the school’s former headmistresses are expected to attend. This is a rare chance for different generations to meet and share memories under one roof.

The upcoming occasion won’t just be about sipping tea. The organisers have lined up:
Performances by current students and past alumnae
Lucky draw
“Queen of the Day – Glamorous Forever” – where ladies are encouraged to dress in classic Malay traditional wear

The reunion also keeps to a ladies-only theme, ensuring a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere for all attendees.

Tickets are priced at RM100, with proceeds helping to grow the Alumni Association’s funds. Part of the collection will also be donated to RPS, so the event is not just about catching up – it’s also about giving back.
