Royale Vietnam Restaurant, SkyAvenue
I can count in one hand the number of times that I had tried Vietnamese cuisines, deducting the home-cooked Vietnamese meals and the non-authentic Vietnamese restaurants that I have tried in the past. Therefore, I would say I didn’t have any expectation when I dined at Royale Vietname Restaurant when I was in SkyAvenue.
Stepping into the restaurant, I was taken aback by the decor. It was like walking into somewhere grand, like a palace of sorts. The fact that the servers were garbed in Vietnamese costumes added to the authenticity and ambience of the restaurant.
The spread that we were served was really generous. It included the luxurious Wagyu beef which I left untouched as I do not take beef. But all the other dishes that I did try were very flavourful, such as the Mekong Delta Fried Fish and Crispy Golden Chicken Pumpkin.
I was also amazed by the Steamed Prawn with Young Coconut, which had fire burning from the base of the coconut. I was so fascinated with it that I didn’t want to extinguish the fire. It was probably the reason why the fire alarm went off while we were dining. LOL!
The lady boss was very friendly and she speaks English and Mandarin very well, so there will not be communication problem if you also speak either of these languages. How would I rate my experience dining at Royale Vietnam in SkyAvenue? I felt like an Empress, honestly. The next time I go, I will make sure to dress fittingly.
