Penang Hosts the World Research Travel Conference (WRTC) 2024
Penang, Malaysia, is vibrant as it hosts the World Research Travel Conference (WRTC) 2024, welcoming delegates from 13 countries to explore the evolving landscape of research travel. Taking place from the 3rd until the 7th of November at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre, this year’s conference with the theme ‘Opportunities, Synergies, Sustainability’ marks a historic first to be held outside of China.

He added, “We are living in an era where change is constant and innovation is paramount. In such a world, the ability to adapt, collaborate, and innovate is essential. This conference provides the ideal platform for all of us to come together, share our experiences, and work towards a common vision for the future.”
The opening ceremony included a lively drum performance and a multicultural dance presentation by local school students, showcasing Penang’s rich cultural heritage. Additionally, delegates enjoyed a martial arts demonstration by the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Shaolin Baduanjin, setting an energetic tone for the conference.
