Paying Homage to Lord Buddha on Wesak Day @ Enlightened Heart Tibetan Buddhist Temple
Page 1 Page 2
At noon, disciples, devotees and volunteers hoisted the rolled up gigantic thangka of Lord Sakyamuni Buddha to the compound of the temple, then unfurlled it to be sunned. It is believed that exposing it to the strong sunshine allows it to absorb the power of the Sun God, hence promoting good health, success, peace and harmony.
With the gigantic thangka unrolled and held head high, devotees were able to walk under it to receive blessings and good luck from Lord Sakyamuni Buddha for the coming year.
Other rituals conducted at the temple on Wesak Day included receiving blessings from deputy abbot Rev. Master Yong, bathing the statue of Lord Sakyamuni Buddha to improve harmony and inner balance, and participating in the wealth magnet to generate riches plus good fortune.
Wesak Day celebration is observed annually at this temple. This year’s saw a blessing of RM20,000 by Second Finance Minister of Malaysia Y.B. Dato’ Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah, who is also Tambun Member of Parliament, to construct a proper car park for this place of worship. Praise Lord Buddha.
The development of this Enlightened Heart Tibetan Buddhist Temple is a continuous work in progress. In desperate need is an upgrade to its access road from the main Tambun – Ampang road, which is a 15 minutes’ drive to the 2.5 hectare temple site.
This Wesak Day, devotees who arrived by express bus had to be shuttled by four school buses from the main road to the temple. An improved access road would definitely increase visitors to this potential major tourist attraction not only during Wesak Day but also on other days throughout the year.
