New Look For Kinta Riverfront Hotel & Hillcity Hotel Unveiled

Although it was only three years since Kinta Riverfront Hotel & Suites opened its doors for business, and about a year since Hillcity Hotel’s relaunch after a RM2 million refurbishment exercise, these two hotels, owned by Ipoh’s largest hotel group, Morubina Group of Companies, are currently being revamped for a fresher, more contemporary look.

This extensive restoration work, which began last month, will fully complete by the end of 2014. With a reinvestment of over RM10 million, these two hotel properties will see meticulous detailing done not only in terms of hardware but also service and comfort levels.

Based on comments and feedback, these changes will include new paintwork, furniture, wallpaper and carpeting, as well as an upgrade on elevators and banquet equipment to better serve guests.

Both properties will spot a modern concept, although Kinta Riverfront Hotel shall retain its distinct tin mining theme. Tin mining holds an important history in Kinta Valley, once the biggest tin ore producer in the world.

Across the Kinta River, in the pipeline is a 50-feet tall giant Christmas tree to celebrate the Yuletide season, and will create a haven of outdoor enjoyment for all ages.

As for Hillcity Hotel, the recreational park in front of the hotel has been lighted up with LED-wrapped palm trees. This enhancement to the landscape brings a natural environment surrounding the hotel and exudes a cheery welcome to guests and visitors alike.

Hillcity Hotel’s new Chinese restaurant, Hillcity Restaurant, is opened for business and offers an extensive selection of Chinese dishes. On the other hand, steamboat lovers will be delighted to know that a Halal steamboat restaurant is in the works.

Amidst all the hotels that are being established in Ipoh these past couple of years, Kinta Riverfront Hotel & Suites and Hillcity Hotel, after an uplift, will look almost like new.

Both hotels offer a combined total of 510 guest rooms and suites, as well as a banquet capacity of 3000 pax.
