Nepal Fundraising Charity Musical Concert
Led by mentor Teoh Beng Huat and conducted by Ooi Wei Chen, the Hua Yun Orchestra put up a sterling performance last evening at Shen Jai High School Ipoh, to raise funds for the preservation and development of Pema Choling Monastery in Samagaun, Nepal, headed by Ula Jigmé Tsewang Namgyal Lama.
Hua Yun Orchestra was established 8 years ago, with objectives to promote and popularise Chinese music, as well as to improve the performance level of musicians through various public concerts.
The event started off with Weave a mile-long Rainbow, followed by Serenity. Interspersed with Mongolian, Tibetan and Nepali folk songs, the concert managed to raise more than RM20,000 for the monastery.
The preservation and development of Pema Choling Monastery in Samagaun, Nepal, is an on-going project that requires continuous financial support from well-wishers.
