RM60K Raised for Four Schools Through Ipoh Art & Music Charity Festival
Co-organised by Joyous Music Centre and Era Technology Communication Art & Design, with the Kiwanis Club of Gopeng as the main sponsor, the four beneficiaries were SMK Sam Tet, SMK Yuk Choy, Shen Jai High School and Poi Lam High School, all in Ipoh.
The one-day Ipoh Art & Music Charity Festival hosted at the multipurpose hall of Sheh Jai High School was a hive of activity, kicking off with an art exhibition that showcased the work of students from Era Technology. Visitors were able to get hands-on experience by participating in a mini canvas painting workshop.
The second part of the charity festival was a celebration of music which saw admirable performances by Joyous String Orchestra, Sam Tet Voices, Shen Jai High School Chinese Orchestra, Poi Lam High School Dance Troupe, the 24 Seasons Drums teams from SMJK Yuk Choy and Joyous Music Centre.
During the concert, Ken Leong mesmerised the guests with a saxophone solo, presenting “When You Believe”, a track on The Prince of Egypt. The award-winning Sam Tet Brass Band wrapped up the festival on a high note with a medley of popular tunes that got the audience clapping their hands and tapping their feet to the beat.
Guest-of-honour YB.
