MBI Teams Up With BVH To Support Vulnerable Families

Understanding the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing lockdown, the Ipoh City Council (MBI – Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh) teamed up with Bonanza Venture Holdings (BVH) to deliver essential food supplies and daily necessities to a hundred vulnerable families, under the ‘MBI Prihatin’ programme, on Thursday, 10th June, 2021.

The 100 household beneficiaries are from Waller Court, Kinta Heights flats and the Buntong Harmony Flats. Each family received an essential care pack containing 18 items such as rice, noodles, beans, garlic and oil, alongside sanitary products of shampoo, toothpaste plus shower gel. Families with children also received toys.

Ipoh Mayor Dato’ Haji Rumaizi Baharin @ Md Daud said, “Being able to collaborate with the private sector through the ‘MBI Prihatin’ programme really helps our cause to provide support to the needy during these tough times. This is the first time we’ve partnered with Bonanza Venture Holdings on this programme and I hope we can continue to work together to benefit Ipoh.”

BVH Executive Director of Operations Edwin Tan said, “BVH, an Ipoh-based holdings company, which includes Kinta Properties, Meru Valley Resort, Ban Hoe Seng Auto and Bonanza Educare, has in the past year been supporting vulnerable families affected by the pandemic through various funding and volunteer initiatives.

“We are proud to continue this effort by working alongside MBI to help support local families, during such a difficult time. We are passionate about creating stronger communities and hope this contribution will provide some comfort to the families affected and let them know that they’re not alone,” he added.
