Econsave & MBI Prihatin Respond to the White Flag Signal of Distress
Supporting the White Flag movement, Econsave Hypermarket collaborates with the Ipoh City Council (Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh – MBI) under the MBI Prihatin (MBI Cares) initiative, to assist families who are in financial distress.
The Econsave ‘It’s OK not to be Okay’ nationwide campaign which kicked off on 2nd July, is to offer assistance to those who are no longer able to put food on the table as a result of the ongoing Movement Control Order (MCO).
The latest needy family identified lives at Buntong Harmoni Flats. The household received contributions worth RM150, including basic necessities such as food, milk and diapers. Present at the handover event on 3rd July, 2021 were MBI Council Member for Zone 7 (Buntong) A Ganesan and Econsave Manager Jelapang Branch, Shah Effendy Rosman.
According to Econsave North 2 General Manager, Chua Yong Chiang, under this campaign, a total of 20 households with white flags raised in Perak have received care packs within 24 hours of being alerted.
Through such collaborations with the private sector under MBI Prihatin, the Ipoh City Council ensures that no family goes hungry during these tough times.
Good to see companies like Econsave chipping in to help as well.
