Ipoh also Got Talent 2011
2nd prize worth RM2000 went to 18-year-old Ipoh beatboxer, Travis Au Yong Hau Zhen. The SMJK Sam Tet old boy was so impressive, judge See Foon Chan-Koppen termed him as the “one-man entertainment centre”. Personally, I thought what he needed to clinch the championship was showmanship. It wasn’t enough just leaving us in awe in our seats.
3rd prize worth RM1000 went to talented 10-year-old, Syazreen Yunadia bt. Mazlan, the youngest contestant in the finals. Syazreen, from SK Layang Layang, Parit, can sing comfortably both in Malay and English. This was her first competition.
All other finalists won prizes worth RM500, including Chua Phaik Tzhi, who withdrew from the competition due to illness. What a pity. I can still remember her superb performance in IPOH.MY – My Ipoh, My Home.
