Home Fair @ Ipoh

Home Fair is an exhibition of furniture built by local furniture manufacturers. It is an event held alongside MAPEX 2011 at Stadium Indera Mulia, Ipoh, Perak. Rightly so, since a new house always needs to be furnished! MAPEX may be the main event but Home Fair, which occupies Hall B, is even larger than MAPEX, it appears.

Furnishing a home, even with Made-in-Malaysia furniture is a costly affair these days. Well, what do we expect when we have brands with Italian-sounding names that aunties and uncles have problem pronouncing? Obviously, style comes with a price. And when it is coupled with comfort, oh, be prepared to pay through your nose!

Although I did not have plans to make a purchase, I still spent time visiting all the exhibitors. I love interior designing and visiting furniture fairs gives me plenty of new ideas. Even if one doesn’t buy, I think one would be able to garner new knowledge in visiting exhibitions like these.
