Dinosaur Encounter World: Area 65: Back from Extinction
Offering a total site area of 50,000 sq. ft. when fully operational, Dinosaur Encounter World (DEW) at Silverlakes Village Outlet (SVO) in Batu Gajah, Perak redefines the meaning of entertainment, education and tourism.
With the theme, “Area 65: Back from Extinction,” DEW allows visitors to learn all about dinosaurs in an immersively captivating way, via state-of-the-art technology such as Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Animatronics.
Touted to be the best dinosaur park in Malaysia currently, DEW is developed by Wegrow Global Sdn. Bhd. at a cost of RM15 million. DEW also operates some of Malaysia’s largest edutainment parks, including Wetland Studios Putrajaya, Dinosaur Encounter Zoo Melaka, plus Zoo Terantum in Kuantan.
Dinosaur Encounter World: Area 65: Back from Extinction offers different sectors of attractions. The current sectors available are DNA Captures, DNA Dino Lab, Dino Clone Zone, Dino Warp, and Dino Realm VR. The main attraction is the indoor edutainment area with a dinosaur-cloning laboratory, fossil placements, interactive dinosaur exhibits, besides general learning about the science of dinosaurs.
Another highlight of Area 65: Back from Extinction is the enticing 5D motion adventure played in not one, not two, but three cinemas. Each VR video has a duration of 6 to 8 minutes.
Visitors can enjoy unlimited shows, which is well worth the entrance ticket to Area 65: Back from Extinction, as the ticket price for other 5D VR attractions at other Malaysian locations is around RM20 to RM30 per show.
Visitors who do not wish to enter Area 65: Back from Extinction can still enjoy the VR excitement through various VR rides, at RM15 per person per game.
At the end of your visit, you may want to get some dinosaur-themed souvenirs from the souvenir store or grab something to eat and drink at the adjacent WeCoffee. Both businesses are operated by the same company.
Dinosaur Encounter World (DEW) at Silverlakes Village Outlet in Batu Gajah, Perak, is just a short walk across the road from the KTM Batu Gajah Station. Hop on the ETS or Komuter for a brief ten-minute ride from Ipoh. Driving from Ipoh takes approximately 30 minutes.
