Behind the scenes is Sifu Lim Chun Wan, a 45-year-old Ipohite with 15 years of dim sum experience. Trained through years of repetition and refinement, Sifu Lim leads a dedicated team of eight, guiding everything from technique to flavour balance.

Being an Ipoh boy himself, his approach reflects an understanding of local tastes – familiar, comforting, yet polished.
A Refined Dining Experience with Thoughtful Touches
Elegant Dim Sum lives up to its name in more ways than one. Unlike several dim sum spots that operate from coffee shops, this is a full restaurant, presenting a calmer, more refined dining environment.
On regular days, diners can select their favourites from the standard order slips.

On the standard menu, deserving a special mention is the Ice Cream Cheesecake. At first glance, it may remind you of Ipohโs beloved caramel custard, but looks can be deceiving. Unlike the custardโs signature smoothness, this dessert offers a cool, slightly firmer texture that melts pleasantly on the palate. It is topped with a delicate layer of caramelised brown sugar and finished with a bright red cherry, creating a visually appealing treat that is as delightful to the eyes as it is to the taste buds.

Weekends and public holidays bring something extra. Anticipating larger crowds, Sifu Lim introduces special creations not listed on the menu. These selections are served via dim sum trolleys, with the service crew on hand to recommend items and explain what makes them special.

It is a small detail, but one that adds warmth and interaction, a reminder of how dim sum was traditionally enjoyed.

Celebrating One Year with Gratitude and Gold
To mark its first anniversary, Elegant Dim Sum is rewarding its diners with a generous appreciation campaign.
By joining the Elegant Dim Sum membership programme with a RM100 fee, members receive three RM50 cash vouchers upon registration. Only basic information is required.

Members who spend RM188 or more, whether in a single receipt or through cumulative spending, may submit the lucky draw form and drop it into the anniversary lucky draw box.

The draw will take place on 30 April 2026, with a 10g gold bar as the first prize. In total, 14 gold bars are up for grabs, with a combined prize value of RM18,888, a meaningful way of saying thank you to loyal patrons.
