Tucked inside Sojourn Spa Hotel Melaka, Mama Kim Wellness Kitchen is a wellness-focused restaurant where the food isn’t just good. It’s good for you, too. Perfect if you’re on a health kick, enjoying a retreat, or just want a break from the usual unhealthy hawker fare.
Mama Kim Wellness Kitchen serves up what they call a Healing Cuisine, made with love, colour and clean ingredients.

Eating Well = Living Well
Mama Kim’s menu leans heavily into natural, wholesome ingredients with a good balance of vegetables, fruits and protein.
They also follow this cool five-colour concept, basically making sure your plate has a rainbow of nutrients.
Even if you’re not big on wellness, the food here is so flavourful that you won’t even realise it’s healthy. No MSG, nothing processed; just real food cooked right.
What We Ate (and Loved)
We stayed at Sojourn Spa Hotel for a little wellness getaway. As Mama Kim was just downstairs, it was our first choice for dinner! Here’s what we had:
– A fun and refreshing drink that felt like a little pick-me-up.
– Light, floral and perfect for sharing (1–2 pax).

Starters:
– Sounds simple but was actually super satisfying. Steamed broccoli topped with creamy mentaiko egg salad dressing.
Mains:
– One of their signatures! Served in a hot stone bowl that keeps the soup warm, it’s packed with ten types of veggies and your choice of protein. We went for fish. It’s light, silky and full of flavour. You can also pick between brown rice and a noodle option. Our choice of tri-coloured noodles was a nice touch.


– One of the vegan options; this was a surprise hit. Made with fresh fruits and sprouts—clean, refreshing and Instagram-worthy.

– A mix of black glutinous rice, brown rice and black fungus. It comes with three little side dishes. It’s pure comfort in a bowl.

Despite everything being super wholesome, we didn’t miss the usual seasoning or richness. The flavours were still bold, and the colourful presentation made it even better.

There’s a lot to love, but some dishes stand out.
Baked Cheesy Mushroom Rice
Comfort food with a healthy twist. This one’s loaded with mushrooms, fluffy rice, and just enough cheese to make it creamy but not too heavy.
Pandan Nasi Lemak
Yes, healthy nasi lemak exists! The pandan rice smells amazing, and you can have it with grilled chicken or go vegan. The sambal? Still hits the spot.
Herbal Soup & Set Rice
The kind of soup your grandma would be proud of—steeped with herbs like red dates and goji berries. It comes with rice and veggies for a hearty, balanced meal.
Vegan & Custom Options
Lots of dishes here can be made vegetarian or vegan. Think fruit salad, kimchi sauna mee, or even vegan sushi. Just let them know your preference.

The Vibe at Mama Kim
Mama Kim is one of those places where you feel calmer the moment you walk in. It’s peaceful, minimal, and has both indoor and outdoor seating depending on your mood. The staff? Super friendly and really know the menu, which always helps if you’re unsure what to get.
