Chef’s Signature Dishes for Buffet Lunch @ Palong Coffee House
One “headache” I have with living in Ipoh is answering the never-ending question of, “Where is the best place to eat in the city?” To me, this is a RM64,000 question because I personally think that any eatery in Ipoh is on par with some of the best spots you can find in Kuala Lumpur or Penang, and I am not exaggerating.
Ipoh boasts so many time-tested coffee shops and restaurants that one usually goes home fulfilled and satisfied. Nevertheless, in my attempt to answer this million Ringgit question, I usually need to know one’s budget and, “What ambience are you seeking?”
The coffee house at Kinta Riverfront Hotel serves scrumptious buffet lunch from 12 noon to 2.30pm, Mondays through Fridays. Priced at RM42 nett per adult and RM21 per child or senior citizen, this may not be the place for you if you are looking for Ipoh cheap eats but if you prefer a quiet, clean and air-conditioned place that is conducive for both business talk or tête-à-tête, Palong Coffee House would be most suitable.
These photos I am sharing today are part of the buffet lunch menu of the coffee house. Do take note that every day, two different chef’s signature dishes will be presented. Among those sixteen dishes listed are Masak Lemak Siput Sedut, Asam Pedas Ikan Pari, Braised Spicy Chicken, Ikan Masak Tiga Rasa and Buttermilk Chicken. Diners won’t know before hand which are the signature dishes that would be served. There will be a daily surprise!
Additionally, for the month of November, Pastry Chef Henry Heng’s Cheese Cake and Black Forest Cake are being sold at a promotional price of RM60 per kg, instead of the original price of RM80. A reservation of two days is required.
