An Unforgettable Christmas Night: A Gift

It was an evening to remember with family and friends at the Legacy Centre, 15 Clarke Street, in Ipoh New Town, when talented young musicians came together to play popular Christmas carols and worship songs befitting the traditional celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

Headlining “A Gift” was multi-talented saxophonist, Ken Leong, backed by a five-piece Christmas band who call themselves, Heard of You.

Starting off the enjoyable evening with the uptempo Joy to the Wonderful World, among the tracks in the playlist included Silent Night, Away in a Manger, Oh Holy Night, Amazing Grace and We Are the Reason.

Besides Ken Leong and Heard of You, popular guitar teacher, Jarrod Pang, also treated the audience to music from his melodious acoustic guitar. Meanwhile, the show organiser, Mr Kok Kee Boon also mesmerised us with a couple of pieces on the grand piano, including Waltz in C-sharp minor by Chopin.

But that wasn’t all! A surprise guest performance came from Joshua Ng, winner of Putra International Piano Competition, who presented his own arrangement of “In Christ Alone I Place My Trust”.

The joyous event that was filled with good cheer and love wrapped up fittingly with the song, Feliz Navidad, which had guests wishing one another, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
