Both South Africa and South Korea knew what they had to do in order to achieve their respective targets.
Korea had to score as many goals as they could to appear in the final against Australia, which we now know they failed to do so, and South Africa needed at least a draw in order to play for 3rd/4th placing, which they also failed.
So, even though Korea won this final round-robin game against South Africa, whilst Malaysia lost to Australia earlier in the evening, Malaysia will still feature in the final, because they scored more goals in the tournament than Korea.
