11-Year Old Low Wei Qi Crowned MÜ Princess
Not only did the sweet smile of 11-year-old Low Wei Qi win the hearts of the judges, her flawless, fast-paced belly dance with butterfly wings performance surely bagged her full points to emerge as the first MÜ Princess.
Wei Qi defeated 15 other girls between the ages of 3.5 and 12 at the inaugural pageant hosted at MÜ Hotel Ipoh on Sunday afternoon. As MÜ Princess, Wei Qi walked home with a night’s stay at MÜ Hotel, tiara, grand trophy, certificate of appreciation, as well as a teddy bear, altogether worth RM300.
Organised by MÜ Hotel Ipoh, the main objective of MÜ Princess was to allow these children, their siblings and parents to have some fun at the hotel and feast on a delicious hi-tea buffet spread, in conjunction with Chinese New Year.
During the junior pageant, the girls were adjudged on their appearance, catwalk, presentation, simple Q&A session, and finally, talent. For the talent round, all the girls either sang or dance. Due to their young age, the most popular song to sing and dance to was Baby Shark (Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo).
According to MÜ Hotel Director of Sales, Lanny Lee, besides an opportunity to have a good time, MÜ Princess was a platform for the girls to build up their self-confidence by speaking and performing in front of a large crowd of strangers.
Indeed, despite their age, many of them did really well on stage, like professional pageant contestants. As you can see from their costumes, they dressed to the nines, too.
During the interval, while judges were busy tabulating the scores, the children participated in some games, to win token prizes. Feel free to have a look and see how excited they were.
