Here are the lists of items required in each step of a Chinese traditional wedding. Items can be replaced with something similar.

Wedding hair ceremony:
red string
sewing kit
round mirror

bogonia powder
one pair dragon phoenix candles

Betrothal gifts from groom’s family:
2 bottles of liquor
1 pair of chickens
4 varieties of seafood (flower mushroom, dried scallop, dried oyster and abalone)
fruits (9 oranges and 9 apples)
2 boxes of longevity noodles
dragon / phoenix pastry
2 pieces of red cloth

Bride’s family returns:
2 bottles of orange juice
1 pair prosperity cakes
18 pieces of golden ball
fruits (9 oranges and 9 apples)
lettuce, celery, spring onions, mandarin oranges, lotus roots
2 boxes of longevity noodles
lotus seeds / dried lily bulbs / euphoria longan

Gifts on wedding day by groom:
2 bottles liquor
golden pig (roasted pig)
fruits (9 oranges and 9 apples)
1 pair of chickens
2 boxes of longevity noodles

Gifts on wedding day by bride:
2 bottles of orange juice
1 pair prosperity cakes
18 pieces golden ball
fruits (9 oranges and 9 apples)
lettuce, celery, spring onions, mandarin oranges, lotus roots
2 boxes of longevity noodles
1 pair sugar cane (or 2 bottles of honey)
lotus seeds / dried lily bulbs / euphoria longan
