The Sticks, Kuala Kubu Bharu, Selangor

There is really very little solid information on the internet regarding The Sticks, an eco-resort accommodation on the fringe of a tropical forest in Kuala Kubu Bharu in the District of Hulu Selangor.

With Sungai Chiling flowing across the property, indeed, The Sticks provides the kind of nature getaway that many of us urbanites crave for.

The Sticks doesn’t occupy such a large area but it does offer a number of different accommodation types, from chalets to camps, and also the new trend, glamp.

The Sticks is run by the Gan family, a bunch of nature lovers themselves. That’s why The Sticks is designed as natural as possible.

Because electric appliances are powered by solar energy and generator, guests are discouraged from using devices that zap too much electricity, for example the hair dryer.

Do take note that Maxis subscribers may experience connectivity issues with their mobile lines while Celcom and DiGi signals have been tested and proven to be strong in the area.

There’s nothing much to do at The Sticks in terms of entertainment except to chill and that is the purpose of Sungai Chiling, as you can see. Perhaps, you could request that a treasure hunt be organised, or maybe a trek into the forest or even a cookout session.

I find that major parts of this resort are unlighted at night; perhaps this is because it is still in the development stage. To make matters worse, some of these rooms do not have attached washrooms. And beware: there are wild animals around!

Therefore, when making a booking, do ensure that you specify the type of accommodation that you require.

I think I have visited this place, it’s very peaceful and lots of greenery.
that premium chalet looks nice.. stayed in a similar setup once. truly enjoyed myself.
So near to nature.. Such a wonderful outing everyone is longing for… Nice place!
looks very cozy and nature oriented! Great for relaxing getaways!
I went to this place to survey before booking on Tue 18/4/17, met the owner Mr Rubin n he said the 4.5acres belong to him and when I wanted to book the Lower bungalow with recommended by him, he ask me to go through email booking which I did but at the end the email respondent told me that the 2 units bungalow doesn’t belong to them n have to book through another neighbor owner .
Then another reply saying if book their chalet compulsory book their meals there which charge RM140 per adult, RM100 for children n RM55 6 yrs n below excluded the chalet rental!!! I told Rubin that the food charges is too high in this kind of places and moreover nearby is Kuala Kubu Bahrain which we can have our foods there as this charges is ridiculous if for the family with children . I am not saying we cannot afford but in local rate is too much. Anyway, we decided not to go to this place as the owner not really gentlemen, too bad! This is my opinion.
