Tanjung Hani Homestay, Sijangkang, Selangor

Tanjung Hani Homestay is one of the many accommodations offered at Kampung Sijangkang in the District of Kuala Langat, Selangor. Apart from the usual “house” type of rooms, there are also chalets similar to those of beach resorts. Can you believe it?

At Tanjung Hani, guests are left on their own and it is not necessary to stay under the same roof as their hosts. Some prefer this arrangement, while others like to adopt the daily living of their host family. I would rather to be left to my own devices.

Due to the many rooms available at Tanjung Hani, this is a good place for family or group travel. I wondered aloud to a friend as to who would choose to stay in a kampung, and I was told that people going for weddings or Thanksgiving dinners (kenduri) hosted nearby would look for such accommodations. Right! Why didn’t I think of that?

Every unit is equipped with WiFi, air-conditioning and television set with Astro channels. There is a convenience store nearby and also a ‘warung’ (coffee shop) where one could go for a cuppa and watch Astro with friends, too.

When my group visited, we were treated to a silat performance. The young men were impressive in their self-defence skills. We also had dinner at the kampung in a real traditional way: sitting cross-legged on the floor, sharing a seriously huge platter of nasi ambeng!
