Shake & Bake Café 雪摇烘焙
This new F&B outlet has been talk of the town since its grand opening on 8th August, 2020. My Facebook newsfeed is full of Instagrammable pictures of the café since then.
So, when my friend suggested Shake & Bake Café 雪摇烘焙 as our meet-up point today, I readily agreed. It’s a “new toilet” and worth checking out. Besides, its ample private parking is certainly an advantage.
Shake & Bake Café 雪摇烘焙 serves cakes, breads plus selections of coffee, tea and juices. Therefore, I would say that this is a place for tea or desserts, not main meals. It is actually a bakery.
Shake & Bake Café 雪摇烘焙 has an extensive range of pastries, especially cakes and swiss rolls, as well as snacks. Breads feature prominently on the menu, too. They come in rather fancy flavours, such as Otak-otak Bread, Curry French and Dark Chocolate Euro Bread. In my opinion, to really try out everything, one would take at least a month, without feeling “muak” (sickened).
Shake & Bake Café 雪摇烘焙 has a good ambience and makes an ideal venue for socialising. However, my gripe, I was seated upstairs and the air-conditioning was set too low for my liking. Throughout the 1+ hour, I was not the only customer who changed seats because of this unnaturally cold and windy air. Oh yes, and what’s with serving food using paper plates? This is no home party! LOL
Would I be here for food if it wasn’t at the invitation of my friend to “yum cha”? I don’t think so, as bread and cakes are normally eaten at home. Perhaps, what I would do is come here and “tapao” some pastries.
If you have been to Shake & Bake Café 雪摇烘焙, what’s your opinion? Yay or nay? Which item did you like best?
