Nine Emperor Gods’ Imperial Seal Arrives at Kuala Kangsar Tow Boo Keong

The ancient Nine Emperor Gods’ Imperial Seal was handed over from the Tow Boo Keong (temple) in Alor Setar, Kedah, to Tow Boo Keong (temple) in Kuala Kangsar, Perak, represented by the respective temple’s organising committee members.

The Imperial Seal safely arrived from Alor Setar to Kuala Kangsar yesterday afternoon (30th May, 2022) at 3pm, following a convoy tour around the Royal Town, before reaching the temple, where a religious ceremony steeped in tradition was conducted. The Imperial Seal is currently placed at the special altar for devotees to pay homage, in return for blessings from the Nine Emperor Gods.

This Imperial Seal will be available for public viewing until the 5th day of the 5th moon of the lunar calendar (3rd June, 2022) at 11am. Thereafter, it will be relocated to the upper inner chamber of the Nine Emperor Gods, on the first floor of the temple, and only accessible to the temple management. To enable more devotees to have the opportunity to pay their homage, the temple is open from 8am until 11pm daily (2nd June, 2022).

On the 1st day of the Nine Emperor Gods Festival on the ninth moon (or 26th Sept 2022 on the Gregorian calendar), this Imperial Seal will once again be displayed for the public to pay homage for nine days, until 4th Oct.

A Nine Emperor Gods temple in Malaysia hosts this Imperial Seal for one year on a rotational basis, so devotees in Perak are indeed very lucky that this Imperial Seal is currently in Kuala Kangsar.

Therefore, all Taoists are welcome to Kuala Kangsar Tow Boo Keong temple to receive blessings from the Nine Emperor Gods, as around this time next year, it will travel to another Nine Emperor Gods temple in Semeling Kedah, followed by Miri in Sarawak.
