Kuala Terengganu Chinatown
I had wanted to check out Chinatown (Jalan Kampung Cina) when in Kuala Terengganu on my previous visit to the city, but only managed to do so six months later.
I wasn’t looking for Chinese food, but just to absorb the atmosphere. Kuala Terengganu Chinatown is actually just a stone’s throw from Pasar Payang and one street away from the man-made island named Pulau Warisan (Heritage Island).
I had the chance to take a few shots of interesting bits of the Chinatown, as I didn’t find anything distinct about it yet. I really need to stay a little longer!
I had considered taking a trishaw ride along the street so that I could cover a wider area but dropped the idea. It was better to walk. I don’t think I would have spotted World Heritage Lane Chinatown, if I had taken a trishaw ride. Oh yes, Turtle Alley is also one of Chinatown’s side lanes.

KT Chinatown is where the early Chinese first landed in Terengganu from China during Admiral Cheng Ho’s naval exploits to South East Asia.
