Koong Woh Tong Herbal Teas
I was down with a cold last month while on a 3D/2N solo trip to Kuala Lumpur. Sick or not, the show must go on.
My hacking cough was very irritating, so much so that my friend treated me to a glass of herbal drink after our lunch at Go Thai, Atria Shopping Gallery. Koong Woh Tong has an outlet at the mall, too.
As a banana, Chinese herbs don’t feature regularly in my life. I have zero knowledge about them, and not much confidence in their healing properties.
But my friend, who was also coughing, is a staunch believer and was looking forward to her glass of herbal tea from Koong Woh Tong, urged me to drink something, I went ahead.
With so many different concoctions for a variety of ailments, I had no idea what to order. I just said, “Give me something that would cure my cough.” I was offered something bitter, which I duly gulped down.
Today’s photos were taken during my trip to SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting, some months ago. It was during that tour of SkyAvenue that I was first introduced to this herbal tea chain store.
Did you know that Koong Woh Tong was originally from China and its first few products sold from a small stall were Gui Ling Gao, Ya Sei Mei and Wong Lo Kat?
Today, Koong Woh Tong is a recognised brand in more than 20 countries, including the United States of America, Canada, Germany and France.
Koong Woh Tong’s first shop in Malaysia was opened to the public some 25 years ago at Sungei Wang Plaza, Kuala Lumpur. There are now 40 outlets in Malaysia, mainly located at major shopping malls.

Hi Flin! There was relief but no cure. Still coughing even today!
OMG Emily. See a doctor for that cough. My GP said, even if have small coughs for a month, he will investigate.
Thanks for your concern, Flin. Will make time for another trip to the doctor’s.
