Grand Opening: BP Specialist Centre Ipoh
The grand opening of BP Specialist Centre in Ipoh was indeed a grand affair, with guest-of-honour, Transport Minister Dato’ Seri Kong Cho Ha, and also graced by Ipoh City Mayor Dato’ Roshidi Hashim and Ipoh-born Supermodel Amber Chia.
BP Specialist Centre in Ipoh had a very humble beginning, opening its doors on 1st Jan, 1982 as a basic laboratory running only blood and urine tests. Now, the company has grown to become the largest private laboratory to include fifty diagnostic centres and five specialist centres, this one in Ipoh being the newest.
As a head-to-toe healthcare centre, someone can walk into any BP Specialist Centre to have a checkup on the entire person, from stress test on the heart to hearing test and dental checkup. Services offered at these centres are complimented by services offered online at the company’s website.
In addition, the company’s pharmacy, Lovy Pharmacy, in Ipoh, which is also located in BP Specialist Centre in Ipoh, is the only pharmacy in Malaysia that offers drive-through service, much like a drive-through fast food outlet. Talking about food, BP Specialist Centre Ipoh stands out with its healthy food outlet, Garvy’s Cafe, named after one of the founders’ son.
During the grand opening this afternoon, visitors were offered two free tests: hearing test and Body Composition Analysis (BCA). There were also talks on health and nutrition. To keep the guests entertained, there was a singing performance by Lee Pei Ling, an Astro Star Quest singer. MY FM Cruisers also conducted two sessions of live cross-over on location.
