Fiesta Seni Budaya Perak 2012 was a three-day event brought to us by Jabatan Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Negara (JKKN) Perak. JKKN presents cultural performances at their auditorium regularly. Pelancaran Pusat Seni Setempat 2012 was one of their programmes that I managed to cover recently.
This time, JKKN decided to bring arts and culture to the people, hence the very public venue. A good move, I say, as it creates greater awareness of the good work that JKKN does. Fiesta Seni Budaya Perak 2012 was launched by Perak State Culture, Arts, Youth and Sports Exco Y.B. Dato’ Zainol Fadzi Paharuddin on Friday night.
JKKN didn’t only promote culture of a single race, but a fusion of cultures, which was a breathtaking experience. It was something different from the norm, and we were caught by surprise because we didn’t know what to expect. Even Dato’ Zainol was taken aback by the way he was invited on stage to present his speech.
The three-day event was packed with lots of activities. Besides performances, there were exhibitions, demonstrations, auditions and competitions, just to name a few.
