Christmas Cheer For the Less Fortunate
Christmas is around the corner. During this season to be jolly, let’s not forget the less fortunate, who may not be able to celebrate due to various circumstances.
Yesterday, the BioFri team took the afternoon off to bring some cheer to residents of four homes in Ipoh – one special needs and three elderly care homes.

In the event which was hosted at a handicapped children’s welfare home located along Jalan Pasir Puteh (Persatuan Kebajikan Rumah Orang Kurang Upaya), BioFri’s inaugural Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative benefited Lovely Villa Home Care, Pusat Jagaan Seri Cahaya and Victory Care Centre, besides Persatuan Kebajikan Rumah Orang Kurang Upaya.

These four homes were carefully selected by the BioFri team for this sponsorship charity event as they were deemed to be rather neglected thus far.

According to BioFri founder, Frida Khong, it is not surprising that the less fortunate are sometimes forgotten amidst the chaos of Christmas shopping and preparation for the celebration. Therefore, the BioFri team ensures that this doesn’t happen with this Christmas charity drive. In this sponsorship to the four homes, among the items donated were water filters, fogging machines, commode chairs, four-legged canes, wheelchairs and adult pampers.

She said, “We wish to celebrate together with these special needs children and elderly folk during this important time of the year, as no one should feel left out in the celebration. We are delighted to see how this event has brightened up the day of our recipients and hope that more homes can benefit in the coming years.”

BioFri is an Amino Antioxidant Collagen beverage that restores and regenerates skin cells, tissues and organs. It’s an all-in-one supplement that contains the required vitamins for overall wellbeing, besides enhancing our biological reverse ageing process and boosting our immune system.
Guest of honour was State Assemblyman for Pasir Pinji YB Howard Lee. Acknowledging that some communities may fall into the blind spot of social welfare, he applauded the CSR initiative by BioFri. He said, “Thank you for stepping up for those who are in need, spreading love and care especially during this festive season. We hope that your actions today will encourage your business peers to do the same for the needy. Doing our part, we pledge to donate RM1,000 to Persatuan Kebajikan Rumah Orang Kurang Upaya from our constituency fund.”

Besides bearing gifts and good news, the BioFri team also engaged Aiman Ipoh Buskers to entertain guests with popular Christmas carols, befitting the occasion.

All in all, it was a joyous gathering, not only for the beneficiaries, but also the organisers and guests. 2020 has been a difficult year for many of us and during these unprecedented times, it is more important than ever to help out one another. As such, the BioFri team has indeed lived up to the spirit of #kitajagakita.
