The afternoon I was there, most shoppers were foreigners. Central Market is certainly a great place to pick up souvenirs; one is truly spoilt for choice. The locals went for the food, instead. I understand that some evenings, there are performances or demonstrations. Unfortunately, I had to give the evening cultural performance a miss as I had to leave for Ipoh.

Central Market is a place that’s perfect for a window shopper like me. There are just so many trinkets to browse through, a short visit is insufficient to admire all the handiwork for sale. Luckily I wasn’t shopping for a gift or it would take up more time!

Central Market is a no-smoking building that is open daily from 10am to 9.30pm. Admission is free but visitors have to pay for parking.
