ATV Challenge in Labuan

Another exhilarating activity that our delegation attended while touring Labuan for a week was the ATV (all-terrain vehicle) challenge. Operated by Smart Ryders Club, this is a fairly new product in the Federal Territory of Labuan, so I would consider it a hidden gem.

The ATV course that we were put through involved four different trails. It began with the practice trek, followed by ‘kampung’, jungle and finally, beach trail.

As you can imagine, a rider is made to go through various difficulty levels, pushing the ATV through all sorts of terrain, which it handles without any fuss.

To me, the most exciting part of the challenge was riding into the golden sunset while manoeuvring the beach trail. Labuan boasts some of the most gorgeous sunsets I have ever witnessed throughout my travels around Malaysia.

Rates per ATV:
Stage 1 (RM60)
Basic and semi-skill riding on sandy and muddy track. Low and high level ground and narrow bridge crossing.

Stage 2 (RM60)
Ride on village road and passing village houses. Ride through jungle trek, up and down the hill. Stopover for photography before riding back to base.

Stage 3 (RM60)
Ride along sandy beaches and crossing a small stream and rocky road. Free-style ride before going back to base. This trail is subject to sea tide and water level.
