Langkawi’s Kuah Town Night Market
Anybody who visits Langkawi should make Kuah Town one of the first stops. It’s because Kuah Town, where Kuah Jetty is located, is the place one could find the lowest priced goods.
No doubt, Langkawi is a tax-free island but this doesn’t mean that there is no price variation among businesses. However, if you are looking for brand name items, this is the wrong place to be. Those are found (and bought) at the Langkawi International Airport’s duty-free shops that offer a broad selection of items.
However, this post is not about shopping in Kuah (Pekan Kuah) in general, but the night market specifically. It is open every Wednesday and Saturday. As you could see, it is utmost popular, particularly since this pasar malam featured on Astro not too long ago.
If I thought that food sold at Ipoh’s night markets are already very budget-friendly, they are even more so here. A friend was raving about his deep-fried beef burger that was sold at RM1.50 only. It is certainly very different from conventional burgers. Alas, I do not consume beef due to religious purposes.
