Rumah Opah (Upin & Ipin Animation Series)
If you have watched Upin & Ipin animation series, you would know that the 5-year-old twin boys live in a village with their grandmother (Opah) and elder sister (Kak Ros) in a typical Malay-style kampung (village) house.
At Karnival Upin & Ipin, Rumah Opah (grandmother’s house) has been recreated especially for fans of Upin & Ipin and it is one of the main attractions of the carnival. I had wanted to visit Opah’s house on the first day of the carnival but the queue was too long, I gave up waiting. Adults have to pay RM5 each while children pay RM1 each to obtain a “passport” which grants access to the house.
Guests are greeted by two or three of these characters in the animation series: Upin, Ipin, Opah, Kak Ros, Jarjit, Mei Mei, Ehsan and Mail, throughout the three days of the carnival.
Today, I bring you photos of the life-size Rumah Opah in all its green splendour, unfortunately without any of the loveable Upin & Ipin characters.

I like the photos of Opah’s house very much. They remind me of kampung life. One day I will visit Opah’s house and meet Upin dan Ipin.
