Transforming A Venue With Theme Design
And the third and final set of photos (below) was from a wedding reception held at Syuen Hotel ballroom last evening. Coincidentally, I attended a wedding reception here exactly a year ago. However, the impression I had back then and at this reception of Sue Ann and Wai Loon were totally different. The couple chose a winter theme for their reception, probably because it’s a December wedding. Large blocks of ice were used as decorative pieces placed at strategic spots in the ballroom, creating an almost magical feel.
The setting up of these three wedding receptions were handled by Ipoh-based Cherish Events & Weddings, an experienced company in theme designs for wedding receptions and corporate functions. One of the partners, Haide Hooi, started off as a florist 15 years ago. As you can see from my photos, her floral arrangements are exceptional. Her business partner, Daniel Thexeira, is the event development manager, who also assists with event and wedding planning, in addition to theme and concept designing.
