Kuala Lumpur City Gallery’s icon of I LOVE KL in the historical enclave of Dataran Merdeka is really difficult to miss.
In fact, this gallery, located in a 115-year old National Heritage Building has grown to be one of the top ten attractions in Kuala Lumpur since it was established at this premises in January 2012. Visitors never failed to take a photo with the icon.
Kuala Lumpur City Gallery, owned and managed by ARCH, a company founded by Andrew Lee, tells the story of Kuala Lumpur, from its humble beginnings to its present time, through photos, prints and miniature models.
The highlight of the gallery is the magnificent Kuala Lumpur City Model, measuring 40ft X 50ft, showcasing not only the cityscape of Kuala Lumpur but also the city’s past, present and future, presented in a most spectacular way.
Kuala Lumpur City Gallery receives some 2000 visitors daily, and it fact, its first and only Walks & Tours Map of Kuala Lumpur that is given away for free to visitors, makes the gallery one of the first stops for tourists to Kuala Lumpur who are keen to explore the city by themselves.
Kuala Lumpur City Gallery is not only a must-visit for tourists and visitors. Locals who would like to give a piece of Malaysian heritage as souvenir can also pick up a unique gift at the retail store here.
That’s because ARCH, which initially fabricated architectural scale models, now offers premium quality mainly veneer-based corporate and tourist-related gifts, including bookmarks, magnets, 3-D miniatures, and its signature 2-D framed art pieces.
