Announcement: Wesak Day Programme 2015 @ Wat Puthanimittam
A Thai Buddhist temple in Ipoh Garden East, Wat Puthanimittam is home to the 33ft. (10m) tall Lord Shakyamuni Buddha statue sitting in the lotus position. This magnificent Lord Shakyamuni Buddha statue, made of fibre glass and concrete, was consecrated on 1st May, 2011.
On Wesak Day, which is observed by Buddhists in Malaysia on 3rd May this year, devotees at Wat Puthanimittam will gather at the Thai Buddhist temple as early as 9.30am.
Below is the the annual Wesak Day programme at Wat Puthanimittam.
Date: 2nd May, 2015 (Saturday)
8.30am – Distribution of requisite items to 300 senior citizens (60 years old and above)
*kindly bring along your pre-registration cardDate: 3rd May, 2015 (Sunday)
9.30am – Gathering of devotees
10.40am – Chanting of Discourses for Protection (Paritta Suttas by the Venerable Sangha)
11.30am – Offering of food to the Venerable Sangha12 noon – Complimentary vegetarian buffet lunch for devotees
7.30pm – Complimentary vegetarian buffet dinner for devotees
8.30pm – Chanting of Discourses for Protection (Paritta Suttas by the Venerable Sangha) & Circumambulation around Lord Buddha’s statue.All are welcome – for non-Muslims only.
