Wong Nai Siong Memorial Garden, Sibu, Sarawak
Located along Jalan Sungai Merah in Sibu is the Wong Nai Siong Garden, built in early 2000s.
This garden, though not so much a tourist attraction, is to honour the late Wong Nai Siong, a pioneer Foo Chow immigrant to Sibu from Southern China.
Because of him, many more Foo Chow people migrated to Malaysia, building communities in Sibu in Sarawak and Sitiawan in Perak.
The last of the migrants arrived in 1901, making the total Foo Chow population here then at 1118 persons.
They are now the largest Chinese minority in Sibu.
