Walkabout in the Netherlands
During my recent 9-day trip to the Netherlands, I spent a lot of time walking from place to place, mainly in The Hague, Rotterdam, and also the capital city, Amsterdam. No, I didn’t manage to drop by Eindhoven to visit Niencke, my long-time penpal.
I even bumped into a group of street revellers just before the friendly football match at Rotterdam’s Stadion Feijenoord between Holland and Ghana on May 31.
The country is very well-connected by public transport, and it is easy and convenient to take the tram and subway, once we worked out the routes.
Still, what better way to explore a new place than on foot? Besides, the long daylight in Holland provided plenty of opportunities to shoot good photos, when the typical Dutch weather was absent!
In this post, I am sharing photos of landmarks that I came across during my exploration of the three cities.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t identify all the landmark buildings that I snapped. Drop me a comment if you can. Thanks.
