Tourism Malaysia Shows Support for Kuala Lumpur Bike Week (KLBW)

The enduring Kuala Lumpur Bike Week (KLBW) celebrated its 10th anniversary with a difference. This time, it was hosted at a covered area, at Bandar Malaysia, Sungai Besi Airport Road, an iconic venue because Bandar Malaysia was the original site where the first airport of the country was constructed. Additionally, this ideal location provided a variety of event-friendly amenities that facilitated motorcycle enthusiasts and visitors.

Launched by Tourism Malaysia Director-General Datuk Musa Yusof, KLBW and its motorcycle rally dubbed Chapter One, The Finale, received strong support from Tourism Malaysia as it is an economic booster for the country.

“Apart from MotoGP, motorcycling events such as Kuala Lumpur Bike Week attract enthusiasts and hobbyists for the two-wheelers from neighbouring countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Brunei and Australia,” said Datuk Musa, adding that Tourism Malaysia would continue to support and assist KLBW where needed.

Meanwhile, according to KLBW 2019 Director Muhd Idi Iskandar Abu Zahar, KLBW was different from past events. To mark its tenth year milestone, not only did KLBW focus on motorcycle events, it was concurrently interspersed with unique car shows and art.

In conjunction with KLBW 2019, eighty booths were open selling various products, from t-shirts to motorcycle accessories. In the meantime, for convenience, and to the delight of guests, a variety of food was available, from Western to Thai cuisines, local delicacies and street fare via food trucks.

For biking fans in Kuala Lumpur and beyond, it was certainly a memorable event to cherish.
