Shooting of Rayakan Raya Starring Dr. Ezani Farhana
While visiting Kampung Sijangkang, we were told that a film shooting was in progress in one of the homes. I was curious and wanted to see a live film shoot in action.
Later, I found out that the ‘star’ of the film was MasterChef Season 1 (2011), Dr. Ezani Farhana, and they were shooting a Hari Raya programme called Rayakan Raya, all six episodes of them, here.
This house was chosen as the location for the shoot because of its unique traditional Malay features.
Due to the ongoing shooting, I didn’t get to admire the house as much as I liked to. Also, my friends and I had to remain quiet. However, we stayed for the shooting to see how things were done behind the scenes of a television programme.
This wooden house was actually purchased from Perak, dismantled and reconstructed at this site. For such a large house, the current owners only bought it for RM2,000! What do you think of this rambling house?
