Shareena Shahridan, Glass Jewellery Designer

KACHA glass art was a surprise discovery for me. The glass jewellery designer behind KACHA is Shareena Shahridan, who happens to be the spouse of famed painter and master glass artist Raja Azhar Idris, whom I was supposed to interview.

Shareena, who had no prior background in glass design (she graduated in Marketing), was under the tutelage of her husband as a glass artist in 2008. Now, she is a full-fledged artist in her own right, designing exclusive handcrafted glass jewellery for a niche clientele, under her brand KACHA. Launched in 2013, it carries the tagline of “Uniquely You”.

As someone who doesn’t easily get impressed, I was pretty much so by the glass jewellery created by Shareena. I don’t wear accessories that often but I can tell finesse when I see it.
