Serving the Community: Love We Share
It was a flurry of activity at AEON BiG Falim Ipoh last Sunday, when four service organisations came together to serve the community in a meaningful way.
The four NGOs were Kiwanis Club of Bercham, Kiwanis Club of Tambun, Kiwanis Club of Gopeng, and Lions Club of Ipoh Tin Valley, a joint effort that is in line with the international service clubs’ new objective to unite in force to better serve the people.
The community project, named Love We Share, was a day-long event that also raised funds for Ipoh Precious Gift Orphanage Society, to lessen the day-to-day running of the home and children’s expenses. This home has 18 children, from 4 to 17 years old.
There was a long list of sub-events from the start of the day. These included blood donation, colouring contest, health care talk, health check, creative workshop, beauty pageant for mothers, eye test, clown performance as well as a charity mini fair.
Many local businesses came together to support the event in their respective fortes. Flissco was the official photo booth, providing Ipoh first photo booth services to guests and visitors to remember the memorable day. Proceeds from the photographs were entirely for the charity fund. Au Young Events offered clowning and entertainment services, while Susan Dance Academy brought in her students to perform on a complimentary basis.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. If you had wondered who was behind the decorations, it was Love & Love Weddings and Events who lent their expertise as official decorator.
All in all, it was a fantastic day for all participants. To the hosts and volunteers, it was undoubtedly tiring, but no less fulfilling.

This is such a sweet event for the community! There are so many activities going around too, such a nice event to give back to the community.
This is such an amazing event and sharing and teaching different crafts to the kids and community. I would like to learn dances from the pros of Susan Dance Academy.
