Sawadeeka! Time for Rejuvenation @ Thai Oasis Family Wellness Centre

From full body spa treatment at Forest Colour in Ipoh to traditional Vietnamese massage at L’Alya Ninh Van Bay in Nha Trang, Vietnam, coming home, it was time for another round of self-pampering.

Over the years, I have learnt that if I don’t love myself, no one will. Hence, it is important to make time, no matter how busy I am. This was my fool-proof excuse to head out to Thai Oasis Family Wellness Centre at ICC Club in the middle of last week. Hehehe!

Thai Oasis is an exclusive wellness brand in Ipoh, established since three years ago. They are headquartered at ICC Club but has a branch at MH Hotel Ipoh. I also discovered that they have an outlet in Bayan Baru, Penang, too.

Anyway, Thai Oasis is well known for its authentic Thai massages, as you can already tell from its name. Staffed by a team of experienced masseuses from Thailand with minimum eight years’ experience each, you can bet that the Thai massages, whether traditional or contemporary with aromatherapy, are as genuine as what you will experience in Thailand itself.

But with Thai Oasis at our doorstep, there is no necessity to cross the international border up north for an hour or two of relaxation.

As mentioned, Thai Oasis offers authentic Thai massage treatments, hence expect your masseuse to climb onto your back as you lie face down on the massage bed in her attempt to ‘krik’ all your bones from neck to fingers and toes. Traditional Thai massages are passive stretching and application of gentle pressure along the body energy line, with the aim of increasing flexibility and relieving muscles/joint tension, without using oil.

I personally opted for contemporary Thai massage, which was complemented by aromatherapy oil. The aromatherapy massage is actually Thai Oasis’ most popular treatment package among its female clients.

In general, all massages help in removal of toxins in the body by improving blood circulation, as well as to relieve body aches. Every massage begins with a soothing foot bath.

By the way, although all the masseuses are Thai, they do speak a smattering of English, Mandarin or Bahasa Malaysia, so there is no communication barrier. To be heedful, in my treatment room, and I assume all rooms, a tri-lingual chart (English / Mandarin / Thai) is available with all the common words and instructions translated. Just point to the poster to get your message across.

Thai Oasis has happy hour offers from 10am to 2pm daily. Although I was there after the happy hour session and also on a weekday, I was surprised that it was packed with customers. Luckily, there was zero wait time as Thai Oasis has a large pool of masseuses. While I had already made an appointment, I noticed there were many walk-in customers, and they were welcomed, too.

Stepping into Thai Oasis, I already started to feel relaxed, thanks to its welcoming ambience, with dim lights lighting up its spacious premises. Although I had a very busy schedule, I decided that for the ensuing two hours, I better enjoy myself first and indulged in the VIP room amenities, then only go back to my battlefield (work).

After my 60-minute aromatherapy massage, I spent time at the spa room, which is equipped with Jacuzzi, steam bath and shower stalls. It is highly recommended to take a dip in the Jacuzzi or sit in the steam room after your massage, for further relaxation of your muscles. That’s the ideal solution to a sound sleep at night.

Just for your information, Thai Oasis is a one-stop concept wellness centre. Besides offering massage and spa for men and women, other treatment packages available here include deep tissue massage, hot stone therapy and facials.

Basically, one can expect to feel rejuvenated and revitalised from head to toe when stepping out of Thai Oasis, which was exactly how I felt.
