One of the highlights of my luxurious 3D/2N vacation to Langkawi Island last week hosted by Resorts World Langkawi was a sunset cruise on-board Tropical Charters Langkawi’s twin-deck catamaran. The boat left the Resorts World Langkawi marina at about 5pm and off we went sailing in the Andaman Sea.

The duration of the cruise was three hours and we were expected to arrive at the marina at about 8pm. What does one do for three hours out at sea?

Well, amidst free-flow drinks of cocktails, mocktails and a good variety of other beverages, guests on board have the opportunity to mingle with one another. Those looking to get wet can jump off the boat, or experience the one-of-a-kind salt water “Jacuzzi”.

This “Jacuzzi” is actually a huge net thrown into the sea, and dragged by the catamaran. During the three-hour cruise, the boat always keeps moving, so guests are only allowed to swim within a certain radius from the boat.

Then there’s also a delicious BBQ dinner to look forward to. I have to say that the satay served was one of the best that I have ever tasted my whole life. The meat was succulent and tender; best of all, it was not over-grilled like so often satays are. It was just on point.

After a most scrumptious BBQ buffet dinner and witnessing the most glorious sunset, it was time to dance the night away, on the upper deck. With popular dance tracks blasting from the speakers overhead, it was chaotic but fun, and before we knew it, three hours had gone by just like that!

Although this was my second time on board Tropical Charters Langkawi’s sunset cruise, it was a different experience from the first, which was six years ago. If I were offered a third cruise, I definitely wouldn’t decline. The sea can be so addictive!
