Monday’s quickie lunch was at the new Blue Mountain Café in Greentown. This one-month old café is still unproven among my foodie friends, but it’s OK, let me be the first to try.

I have to say, what attracted me to this eatery initially was its name. However, setting foot in Blue Mountain, I was surprised by its bicycle/industrial theme, that has nothing to do with the colour blue, mountains or Mother Nature in general.

Nonetheless, Blue Mountain Café offers a set lunch menu from Mondays to Fridays from 11am until 3pm, priced from RM8.90. These lunch sets of Asian (local) and Western-style main courses are served together with a complimentary drink of orange juice or green tea and Soup of the Day.

If you prefer another drink besides the stipulated glass, RM2 will be deducted from the price of the set lunch.

An à la carte menu is available as well, with a better variety of main courses. Ordering from this menu means you can match your preferred soup, side dishes, beverage and dessert.

I am particularly interested in its Blue Mountain Signature Drinks – do take note that its Butterfly Pea (Bunga Telang) drinks are not suitable for expectant mothers.

Our lunch consisted of items from the à la carte and set lunch menus. I personally prefer lunch sets as it does not require too much brain work, especially during a work day. Just select, be served, consume and pay.

When it comes to the taste, I’d say it’s “normal” but I like its ambience and I heard that they are better known for their cakes. Will plan another trip here – in fact, Blue Mountain Café runs a customer loyalty programme where every 10 visits with spending of above RM30 each time, entitles diners to a RM10 discount during the 11th visit.

Additionally, Blue Mountain Café is currently running a Facebook promotion – upload your meal to your Facebook (public setting) and check in Blue Mountain Café, plus Like the page, to participate in a lucky draw, with prizes of drinks and cakes, either instant redemption or upon next visit.

By the way, Blue Mountain Café does not impose Service Tax or Service Charge. At the same time, payment is by cash only, at this point. You may, however, enjoy 10% discount when paying via FavePay on your next visit.
