When visiting Labuan Island for a vacation, island hopping is one of the main activities, especially if you relish the sun, sand, sea and surf. The main island of Labuan is surrounded by six smaller ones, one of which is Pulau Rusukan Besar. ‘Pulau’ is the local word for island.

Visiting Pulau Rusukan Besar has to be arranged through a tour operator. The main company is Emma Glorious Tours Sdn. Bhd. Those who sign up for a package will be ferried in a passenger boat and collected at the same spot at a designated time according to a daily schedule.

The Marine Park Information Centre is located on the 14-hectare Pulau Rusukan Besar. Opening hours are from 9am to 4.30pm. Much information is shared through photos, posters and exhibits.

Actually, how much time does one need to allocate for a trip out to Pulau Rusukan Besar? Half a day is fair, if you go for snorkelling or other water activities.

Holidaymakers who wish to spend a longer time on the island may rent a chalet for the night. The shocking pink chalets are spacious and comfortable, as you can see from my photos.

  1. ainy tak pernah pergi labuan. lepastu tak pernah dengar pun pasal pulau ni. tapi cantik giler pulau dia. mashaAllah boleh masuk dalam wishlist ainy ni. dapat island hopping tu best!

  2. Tak pernah dengar pasal pulau ni. Tapi memang terasa nak pergi bercuti ke Labuan..kalau sis pergi bolehlah nanti ke Pulau ni..sesekali pergi ke tempat yang tak pernah pergi best jugak..pengalaman

  4. Wah pulau ni dulu nyaris dah AS nak pergi dengan husband, masa dia bekerja di platform minyak di labuan.
    Memang teringin sangat nak pergi bercuti di pulau ni. tapi tak kesampaian ketika itu
