Pesta Ria Amal 2010 (ISPCA Food Fair)

Yes, I am back from the ISPCA food fair fund-raising charity event. The real name of the event is “Pesta Ria Amal 2010”. I was actually looking forward to a dog demonstration by K9 Police Dog Unit but the dogs didn’t turn up. Apparently, it was because of the Deepavali holiday. Well, I had no idea those dogs are Hindus. Hahaha!

All in all, there were about 30 food stalls, from fried chicken to satay, popiah, curry rice, fruits, drinks, cakes, noodles, etc. In short, no matter if you are looking for Chinese, Malay or Indian food, they are all sold here.

As mentioned in a previous post, we have to purchase food coupons that are sold at RM10 per booklet. I don’t think the prices of food were expensive compared to other food fair fundraising events that I have been to and I was happy to note that “business” was brisk when I was there this morning. In fact, some of the stalls were already closed by 10am.

Besides food, there were other “drives” too. One was “Rakan Cop” campaign whereby the police force tried to recruit volunteers and the other was Lost World Petting Zoo. They had various packages for sale and I believe they were trying to recruit children to register as Junior Rangers as well. And for those who would like to get a blood test, they could also do that and part of the proceeds will go towards ISPCA.

I was quite disappointed I didn’t have the chance to see any dog demonstration so I didn’t stay too long. But if food is your thing, there is still time to make your way there now. The event ends at 4pm.
