Perak Welcomes Bangkok & Singapore Media / Travel Agent Familiarisation Tour Delegations
Organised separately by Tourism Malaysia Bangkok and Tourism Malaysia Singapore, selected media practitioners & travel agents from Bangkok (Thailand) plus Singapore arrived in Perak for a hands-on experience to be captivated by the wonders of the Silver State. While the familiarisation tours introduced the unexplored treasures of Perak to the delegates, these tours also created opportunities for them to foster bilateral cooperation in the tourism industry.
Some of the notable destinations that the delegates visited during their Perak tour which showcased the state’s awesome beauty as a premier tourist destination included Gopeng Glamping Park, Tanjung Tualang Tin Dredge No. 5 – TT5, Royal Belum Rainforest, and Tasik Cermin in Ipoh. In the capital city, a memorable dinner reception was hosted by Tourism Perak at the enchanting Tingkat Valley in Meru, Ipoh. By the way, it’s currently Visit Ipoh Year.
Tingkat Valley at Meru is a new tourist destination in Ipoh. Nestled amidst the picturesque landscape of Meru on the fringe of Kledang Saiong Forest, the venue provided an idyllic setting for the dinner. Its ambience and natural scenery perfectly complemented the aspiration of Tourism Perak to showcase the state as a must-visit Malaysian destination. The dinner event was graced by YB Tuan Loh Sze Yee, Chairman of the Perak State Tourism, Industry, Investment & Corridor Development Committee. Also in attendance were Y.Bhg. Dato’ Mohamad Kamil Bin Dato’ Shafie, Chairman of Tourism Perak Management Berhad; Cik Nurmalis Musa, CEO Tourism Perak; Pn Madzwin Bt. Zainal Abidin, Director of Tourism Malaysia Bangkok; Pn Mohana Murni, Deputy Director of Tourism Malaysia Singapore and En Suhaimi Abu Hassan Shari, Senior Assistant Director of Tourism Malaysia International Promotion Division.
Additionally, prominent players in the tourism industry were present. All of them had the shared objective to promote Perak to a greater audience. The familiarisation tours for media members & travel agents from Bangkok / Singapore to Perak marked an important milestone in strengthening ties between Malaysia and both Thailand and Singapore, hoping that support plus cooperation received will inevitably contribute to the growth of tourism in Perak, elevating the state as a top-tier destination in Malaysia, especially with 2024 being Visit Perak Year.
