Local gaming platform to stimulate Malaysia’s gaming sector
Limpopo Technology aims to kickstart its business and economy through the gaming sector by launching Malaysia’s first large scale location-based mobile Role-Playing Game (RPG), Lets Gold, in June 2020. The mobile gaming-app targets the spending power of gamers, and progressively to involve relevant business sectors. As a sector unabated by the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) and global pandemic, Let’s Gold aspires to be the economic silver lining in Malaysia, building on the accessibility of mobile-gaming and Malaysian’s support of a locally developed mobile application.

According to the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), the Gaming Industry alone contributed USD100 million to Malaysia’s revenue in 2018 and was expected to show an annual growth rate (CAGR 2018-2023) of 10.9 per cent, which will result in a market volume of USD168 million by 2023. Malaysia also ranks 21st worldwide in terms of games revenue, with the total amount of USD633 million. The unique platform offered by Let’s Gold will also introduce the economic capacity from other sectors such as Retail, Franchises and selected Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).

The capacity of Let’s Gold as a large scale location-based mobile RPG also potentially drives visitors to selected locations, primarily malls and retail locations across Klang Valley for the full gaming experience. The game revolves around gold accumulation dedicated to specific locations tracked by the Global Positioning System (GPS), that players are required to visit selected locations before they can start playing. Accumulated gold can be used to purchase e-vouchers which translates to discounts or promotions offered by partners of Let’s Gold.

Let’s Gold aims to connect the capacity of gamers to the business potential of retails partnering with the app to create a renewed digital economy through mobile gaming.

First partnership launches with BIG Loyalty
Recognising the potential capacity of Let’s Gold, BIG Loyalty is the first to launch a partnership promotion. On Friday, 12th June 2020, Let’s Gold and BIG Loyalty launched a collaboration for new players, likewise eligible to claim rewards using in-game gold. Free in-game credit worth RM5.00 will be given out in conjunction with this partnered launch, wherein BIG Members will earn additional RM3.00 in-game credit using a referral code upon registration.
